Cavelle Marble & Cowhide Vase

The Piece

The Cavelle is a study in natural materials — a collection of sculptural vases that pair genuine hair-on cowhide leather with solid marble. The cylinders are wrapped in natural hide and capped with marble rims; the square columns are cut from banded marble. Every piece carries the unrepeatable markings of real hide and stone, so no two are ever quite alike.

The Setting

Tactile and quietly luxurious, Cavelle anchors a console, mantel or shelf in a study, living room or hallway. The warm hides and cool marble read beautifully against wood, brass and leather furnishings, and suit refined modern, lodge-luxe and gallery-style interiors. Style with dried pampas, wheat and preserved branches, or leave it bare as a material object.

Design & Finish

Choose from five natural designs: dark brindle cowhide, grey speckled cowhide and smooth tan leather cylinders (each finished with marble rims), or brown-banded and cream-and-black banded marble square columns. Cylinders come in two sizes; the marble columns in a single square format. Because hide and marble are natural, colour, marking and veining vary from piece to piece.

Styling & Use

Cavelle is designed for dried and faux arrangements. Keep the interior dry and use a slim liner or test tube if you wish to display fresh stems briefly — both leather and marble should be kept away from standing water. Flowers and stems are not included.

Care Guide

• Dust hide with a soft dry cloth, brushing in the direction of the hair; dust marble with a soft cloth
• Keep both leather and marble dry; wipe spills promptly and use a liner for any fresh stems
• Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners on marble, and avoid soaking or saturating the hide
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the natural hide colour; place on a stable, level surface
